I’ve had a lot of fun this year ordering Christmas hampers for various teams I work with. Why is it so much easier getting gifts for people you hardly know than for family and friends?
They are always ridiculously and gratifyingly grateful, which is a nice reward for very little effort, although now I’m worried about setting a precedent. It may be easier to retire than remember everyone I’ve previously given a gift to for future Christmases.
The company I use has an option of adding a card on which they’ll write any message you like. This is useful unless I’m going to hand deliver it in which case I can save myself a couple of dollars and some mental effort by leaving it out. The website is slightly cumbersome if you don’t want a card included “if you don’t want a card, press the select option twice, and then write NA (Not Applicable) in the message area.”
So I was a little surprised to see a card included in the box I took to work yesterday. This is what I found:
