Three days of conference starting today so not much news to report.
My new web host Gavin has been very busy on my behalf (I almost called him Nigel on an email just before; it’s a similar sort of name, isn’t it? Gavin has a Nigel vibe in my book.)
He says I need to get rid of some of my subscribers. I was quite gratified to know I have 725 users registered, however he thinks a significant proportion are actually spam accounts. The most obvious ones are Russian, with “ru” at the end of the email address. It’s quite exciting in a Cold War sort of way that someone is trying to use my blog for nefarious political purposes. However, it would be very embarrassing to contribute to the collapse of democracy so I guess I’ll have to follow his advice and start deleting some of the most egregious accounts. In fact so far I haven’t recognised any of the names of people registered. Where are my so called friends and family? Imagine if you’re all just bots? What am I even doing on here??
