My tinnitus isn’t noticeably improved but on the bright side, I haven’t suffered any side effects from my oral steroids (so far) so that’s pleasing.
I should clarify , the tinnitus is unchanged in its loudness but has a different character now. There are still distant bells and cicadas, but also now a high pitched buzzing overlaid with the sound of crickets chirping. Who would have thought there would be such an entomological bias to it? In any event, I’m gradually becoming accustomed to my new reality, and not finding it as distressing as earlier in the week. A little belatedly, I’m trying to apply the principles of stoicism to my experience. This is made easier when various people at work, let alone in the news, are going through a terrible time at present. It does seem odd that just a week ago I was on a real high after finishing my work presentation. I’ve had lots of very kind feedback in the days since which I wish I could have enjoyed more.
