As proof of your attendance at the departmental inservice, in order to get credit for CPD, you have to fill out a survey. Here’s the one for yesterday:
Well, my talk is never going to be voted “most useful”, but what if I get voted as the one that should have been cut? How soul destroying would that be? What have I opened myself up for?? Never again!
Needless to say, I’m sacrificing my poor junior colleague who was saddled with the very dull journal club presentation before me, to improve my chances of avoiding getting voted off. If that’s ungentlemanly behaviour then I’m sorry, but it’s every man for himself in this cutthroat world, and the sooner she learns that the better.
