I told you about the jewellery I didn’t buy yesterday, but lest you think I’ve been too virtuous, I want to tell you about the jewellery I did buy.
I bought a Swarovski charm in the shape of a heart. We all know what a heart looks like, right?
But in fact, we also equally know that this is a lie. I’m guessing most of us have seen an animal heart? You will have seen it in the kitchen, and it’s even in fairy tales. Remember when the huntsman gives the Evil Queen a deer’s heart as proof that he has indeed killed Snow White? (This detail may not appear in the PG versions but the brothers Grimm never shied away from the grisly or disturbing.) I’ve been refreshing my knowledge of the anatomy of the heart in my prereading for an upcoming ultrasound in resuscitation course. So, I didn’t but this charm:
But instead went for this one. Allegedly it’s a strawberry but the resemblance was uncanny.
