But as the slow train crash omnishambles that is the zombie of American democracy shuffles towards the cliff, it’s very hard to look away. I’ve been trying to avoid the video of Renee Good being shot by ICE agents, but this morning I made myself watch it. It’s pretty clear she died from an excess of testosterone, but the response from politicians and the media has been if anything even more horrific. Apparently you can use FAFO (fuck around and find out) as an excuse to come down hard on (arrest/shoot to kill/extradite) anyone whose behaviour you don’t like. I also discovered something new today – I am an AWFUL person. No surprises there, some of you may say, but in this particular instance it stands for Affluent White Female Urban Liberal. Well, I’ll own it, so shoot me! (Not literally, obvs).
