A lazy start this morning, then walked to Piccadilly Circus to join our Hidden London Underground tour.
We explored the tube station for the next hour or so, through the old tunnels that have been superseded and are now used for storage.
The cost of our tour gave us a 50% discount for the London Transport museum, so we decided to go straight there after the tour, walking through the busy streets in the rain. The museum was packed with children, which was alarming and gave me claustrophobia (or was it agoraphobia?), but for the most part we managed to steer clear of them and enjoy all the old vehicles on display.
We then walked down to the Thames to explore the piers in preparation for a boat trip tomorrow.
We’d had no lunch but a big breakfast so time for a quick nap before dinner. We had a pub meal at the Horse and Guardsman, a relatively new establishment, dating from 1827.
