Gosh, the Victorians did death well, didn\u2019t they? Although actually, when the cemetary was first opened, it was all spick and span and tidy with small trees and well manicured gardens. It was only later when the company running it went bankrupt that it all fell into ruin and turned into the romantic ruins that you see today. Lot\u2019s of movies filmed here over the years, including large numbers of Hammer Horrors (another staple of my childhood! Old reruns, of course).<\/p>\n
