\nI\u2019ve used them in the past as magnifying glasses, for example looking for nits in my daughters\u2019 hair (Thank God those days are over), but this was the first time just for reading.
\nTo be fair, the font on the Guardian app on my iPad mini is minuscule, but still. I should have known this was coming when I had to increase the font size on my kindle a few months ago.
\nAh well, it\u2019s come later for me than for many of my contemporaries, so for that I should be grateful (I don\u2019t mind suffering if others are suffering more – that\u2019s called being human).
\nThe tricky part will be when I have to wear them for close up work in my job – putting drips in, or intubating people. Do you think Simon would let me retire then, or would he make me wear bifocals? It\u2019s a whole new (blurry) world out there for me, my friends.<\/p>\n
