I\u2019ve been reading a book by an Intensivist \u00a0on end of life planning. The first few chapters were about how aging affects the body and were very depressing (spoiler: it\u2019s all downhill after 20), but the latest hot topic is frailty. Apparently how fast people walk is a good predictor of morbidity and mortality. It\u2019s inspired me to keep up my post graduate walking speed, that\u2019s for sure. Although actually, having spent much of the last 24 hours in airports, I\u2019m wondering if the increased mortality for slow walkers is due to \u00a0pedestrian road rage (get out of my way, you slug, or I will be forced to kill you).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
