Not another post about Coronavirus, except perhaps in relation to the need for a good amount of sleep each day to keep your immunity in good shape. Last night some selfish dickwad Aucklander thought it was OK to leave his poor dog outside to whine loudly the entire night, so that I hardly slept. And this is in the middle of downtown, not some insalubrious suburb of bogans out west. This means in order to get my full 8 hours I\u2019m going to need to have a nap when I get home this afternoon.
\nI\u2019ve always loved afternoon naps. I used to call them Nanna Naps in an amusingly ironic way, but as I get older the joke has got a little thin. I\u2019ve never been able to do power naps, which I assume are short intense naps. I just can\u2019t get to sleep if I know I only have 20 minutes.
\nBut I\u2019ve discovered a new version this weekend: the Disco Nap. I don\u2019t think this is any different to your common or garden nanna nap, except that it makes you feel 20 years younger describing it that way.
\nAlthough, now I come to think about it, do young people have any idea what disco is? I\u2019m thinking John Travolta and The Boston Shuffle, which actually puts me fair and square in the nanna category after all. You can\u2019t win.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
