There may be some amongst you who would assume that I\u2019ve only ever dated (American for \u201cgone out with\u201d) doctors, since I am one myself, and I\u2019m pleased to say that you\u2019d be wrong. One of them was a med student. Since I was a med student myself at the time, that\u2019s not as creepy as it sounds. Yes, I was a slow developer, but I\u2019ve \u00a0always found doctors an attractive bunch. This fascination dates back to a TV show that was popular in my formative years. It was an Australian soap called Young Doctors – kind of like Neighbours, but in a hospital. I have an embarrassing number of old doctor-nurse romance books in my bookshelf (lets face it, any number of these is an embarrassing number), that managed to survive the great book cull of 2016, when we moved to our new house and my husband decided analogue books were old technology and best discarded. Finding doctors attractive wasn\u2019t solely a Kirsty foible – it\u2019s a common problem amongst hospital staff, especially nurses, and hence the title of this blog.<\/p>\n

As the years have passed, I seem to have recovered somewhat from this disorder. It\u2019s not as bad as familiarity breeding contempt, it\u2019s more like as I get to know my colleagues and work with other specialties, I see them more as friends than romantic interests. I can\u2019t remember the last time I had a crush on someone. Plus, they\u2019re all so damn young now.\u00a0And,\u00a0<\/em>of course, I am married, ahem (did I mention he was a doctor?)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
