So, I do love my new Tesla, in spite of Elon being one of the most toxic human beings on Earth.<\/p>\n

To assuage my guilt, I ordered a bunch of very woke stickers online at a hugely inflated price, which arrived last week. This is them in situ:<\/p>\n

\"\"I\u2019ve asked my family if I\u2019m cool or a tragic try-hard, and the only comment I\u2019ve got back so far is that they\u2019re very nicely spaced. My husband is concerned however that I\u2019ve increased the likelihood of the car getting keyed. Which is fine, because in that case it\u2019ll be filmed and the evil doer will be punished, which is not vigilante justice, but does look a bit like it, I must admit.<\/p>\n

Did I mention I got hit by a car last week? No? It wasn\u2019t anything dramatic, and I\u2019m fine. I was on my moped behind an unnecessarily huge pick up truck, when a rubbish truck stopped in the middle of the road in front of us. All well and good, until the pick up truck started reversing. I was helpless with no reverse gear on my bike and could only shout ineffectually into my helmet. A passerby was looking on astounded and tried to get the driver\u2019s attention, but it was too late. He backed into me, and somehow his tow bar slid under my license plate. Finally the driver realised something was up and started to drive forward again, much to my dismay as we were now attached. With a sickening graunch, the tow bar broke free, bits of plastic fell onto the road, and he drove off further down the street and parked.
\nHe was most apologetic when he walked back to where I was standing having parked my bike. He bleated something about not being able to see in his rear view mirror due to a giant barrel he had in the back of his truck, which I felt wasn\u2019t helping his case. His name was Brent, he\u2019s about my age, \u00a0and it turns out he is a car mechanic, and works at a motor shop \u00a0just around the corner. He was concerned for my wellbeing, but when I said I was fine, he gave me his details and we arranged that I take the bike to a nearby workshop. Unfortunately, when I got there, they had closed a few weeks before after 46 years in business. I messaged Brent and he found somewhere else for me to take the bike. The accident was completely his fault, but I suppose he could have said I drove into the back of him, which would have caused the same damage. We had two witnesses, the passerby and also an elderly gentleman who just happened to be weeding his garden at 7:30 in the morning, but I\u2019d hate to have to try and track either of them down.
\nMy moped assessment is booked in for this Friday, as the second motorcycle shop is very busy. Brent wants an estimate of the damage so he knows whether to claim insurance, so I\u2019m happy to delay any repairs until the situation is clarified. He\u2019s very grateful for my understanding as apparently he has had the week from hell. This led to a strange text interaction where I said I hoped he would have a better weekend and he told me his plans which involved a trip away with his caravan, which I responded to with a heart emoji. Was that weird? Let\u2019s see whether relations remain cordial once the estimate for the damage comes in.<\/p>\n

The Tesla was parked outside my house today, to leave room for the electrician to park when he visited. When I idly reviewed the various sentry mode video clips after I got home from work, I found one where two hip young people walk past, and then one stops and looks at the back of the car, and takes a photo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Again, I\u2019m not sure if it\u2019s in admiration or more like \u201clook at this sad bastard!\u201d, but at least people are taking notice. The video clips from earlier in the day when the parking warden gives me a ticket is less appealing, but at least I\u2019ve got evidence that she was being very thorough.<\/p>\n
