\nThe perfect EarPods that I spent so much time searching for, ended up giving me itchy ear canals, so I have upgraded to AirPods. Yes, I went with Apple again, because we\u2019re an apple family and I want all my gadgets to be able to speak to each other. The headphones are surprisingly comfortable and never give the impression that they\u2019re going to come off accidentally while I\u2019m running (I feel like there should be a single word to describe that quality, I wonder what it is?) Plus, they have the benefit of clearly signaling your antisocial nature.<\/p>\n

As with all modern gadgets, there are many extra features that I don\u2019t need or want and can\u2019t control. For some inexplicable reason, my 180 bpm playlist suddenly became very quiet just before a favourite old Cure song started playing. I\u2019ve since figured out this was the AirPods reducing the volume to enable me to hear someone talking to me. Trouble is, it was just the wind. The wind has nothing to say to me except \u201cwelcome to the roaring forties\u201d which I don\u2019t need to hear as I\u2019m living it every day. Needless to say, I\u2019ll be searching for a different setting the next time I run (probably fruitlessly, to be fair).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
