Sad news from our piscine family.<\/p>\n

I feel terrible, just yesterday I was watching the fish struggle with the new food I bought. The pond food they\u2019ve had for years wasn\u2019t available the last time I went to the pet shop, so instead I paid extortionate amounts for something else that promised to be even better. So, I was a little annoyed that they were all being such drama queens about it. The little new fish, Mudwiggle (Del boy that was) seemed to be the only one that was eating the floating granules quite happily. Fanny and Jackie would both take a few mouthfuls of it and then spit it out dramatically, which made me roll my eyes at the time, but now I\u2019m thinking that was actually Fanny\u2019s last meal. As you can see, her tummy is quite bloated and I can assure you it was tight as a drum. I actually capitulated last night and ordered a huge tub of the old stuff online ($100!), what a shame I didn\u2019t do it earlier. Jackie is of course looking as hale and hearty as ever, in spite of also having trouble with the new feed. Honestly, I can just see her quite happily living off our corpses with the cockroaches after the apocalypse (provided there is some flooding involved, I suppose, for logistical purposes).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
