You can see the enormous glass roof is retractable so in nice weather it can be opened. Currently it\u2019s cold and yucky which is unfortunately the forecast for our entire time in Norway. So much for our chances of seeing the Aurora! On the plus side, after the Aurora talk I went to today, it turns out I probably saw the Aurora in Waikanae earlier in the year, that I had dismissed at the time as just a red glow in the sky. So, strictly speaking, I can cross that off my bucket list. Does that make me feel better? Good question.<\/p>\n
The sea is quite rough today, not surprisingly considering the weather. I\u2019ve not been troubled by sea sickness at all so far which is most gratifying. I have sea sickness tablets but they tend to wipe me out so I\u2019d be pleased if I can avoid taking them.
\nThe yoga\/wellness studio is partially open to the elements so our class this afternoon was sparsely attended and fairly chilly. Since I\u2019m not the one on the no fat diet I\u2019m doing my best to keep moving to stay fit. I usually take the stairs everywhere. We\u2019re on deck eight, and we go everywhere from deck two right up to deck twelve, where the library is located. Simon was there looking for somewhere to get internet access that wouldn\u2019t block his VPN for work stuff. While we were there I borrowed a book on Princess Diana, the fashion legend. you see my tastes aren\u2019t all highbrow!
\nWe got 600 USD on board credit when we booked this cruise, and we wondered the first day what we could possibly spend it on, and whether there was a chance of getting it reimbursed? I\u2019m embarrassed to say it\u2019s only been a couple of days, and we\u2019ve already exceeded it. Partly it was Simon\u2019s medical bills but the rest is just frivolous. The only thing I regret though is last night\u2019s Japanese meal which was not nice at all.<\/p>\n
Tonight I\u2019m going to a show, during which Simon is going to fill himself up at the buffet, and then we\u2019ll meet up for dinner at the main dining room. It\u2019s a gala night tonight with the theme black and white\u00a0<\/em>so I\u2019ll be putting my glad rags on soon. My hair still looks OK from being styled yesterday. I forgot to mention, the hairdresser used a straightening iron on my frizzy under-fringe.
