Well, it\u2019s touch and go whether we get on our cruise tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Simon is still far from 100%. The low fat diet of earlier in the day became a no fat diet for dinner last night, after he measured a temperature of 37.9. We ate at the club and they were really very accommodating. The immaculately presented young lady who was our server thought that perhaps the neekwa\u00a0<\/em>salad was our best bet. I looked at the item she pointed at on the menu and saw it was the\u00a0salad ni\u00e7oise<\/em>. I didn\u2019t want to be that <\/em>person and correct her but then I thought she might rather know before serving anyone else that evening. So, I mentioned it when she brought our food. It turns out that the kitchen staff had already corrected her (\u201cDon\u2019t you know it\u2019s French??\u201d) so that was all good.<\/p>\n

We also gambled on the sorbet being a fat free option for dessert. I should mention, I had a lovely heritage tomato tart for my entree, the fish main, and then Eton mess for dessert. Heartless? Maybe, but I hadn\u2019t eaten anything since breakfast. Plus, Simon was able to drink alcohol with his meal so he wasn\u2019t completely deprived.<\/p>\n

He had an indifferent night, so as a last ditch attempt to get well before tomorrow, he had only black coffee for breakfast. We walked into town afterwards to get electrolyte solution from the pharmacy, and it was most alarming. He shuffled along like a zombie.<\/p>\n

He was feeling a little better once we got back to our room, and he\u2019d done some of his online paperwork (throughout all of this, he\u2019s kept up with his GP paperwork; prescription requests, checking results, that sort of thing. He\u2019s very conscientious.) So, we decided to do a little day trip to the oldest model village in the world, which dates back to 1927. It was lots of fun and very impressive.<\/p>\n

After an hour there, including a break for a wee drink and a rest, it was time to come back to the club for a nap. I must say, this is the most restful holiday I can ever remember.<\/p>\n

\u2026.<\/p>\n

Simon is still napping. His last temperature was 38. I\u2019m getting stir crazy so I\u2019ve gone for a walk. I have walked along the banks of the Thames, following the route of the famous Henley boat race to Temple Island. It\u2019s another glorious autumn day.<\/p>\n
