Here we are in Wadsworth and Beatrix Potter country: the Lake District.<\/p>\n

Reasonably hairy driving out of Glasgow, a totally acceptable side effect of pedestrian zones. Stopped twice en route to charge the car, the first time just to 60% early on, and then to nearly full at our lunch stop. It\u2019s added a fun and not too stressful extra dimension to our trip, having to worry about charging the car. It still seems amazing that it\u2019s free. Why isn\u2019t everyone driving Teslas?<\/p>\n

The Lake District is gorgeous but the down side of cute little country lanes is they are scary to drive on. We came across a farmer on a quad bike moving his sheep across the road, with a border collie at the back. I tried to take a photo but they were too quick. Must have been quite a small flock. I half wondered if he\u2019d waited until someone was coming so he could put on a show for us.<\/p>\n

Grasmere is a tiny village but even at the fag end of the season it\u2019s overrun with tourists. Must be hellish in summer. We checked into the extremely quaint The Inn at Grasmere and are now having a nap.
\nSimon is feeling slightly less well than yesterday, even on two antibiotics and the painkillers. It\u2019s making me very nervous. I have googled \u201cnearest hospital to me\u201d in preparation. It looks like a small district hospital so maybe the A and E wait won\u2019t be so bad. I really hope I never find out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
