Not a good day. Simon is sick.<\/p>\n
He was up most of the night with biliary colic type tummy pain, probably gallstones which he\u2019s never had before. He felt well enough to have breakfast and set off on our scenic coastal drive to Glasgow, but felt worse and worse over the course of the day. Finally in the early afternoon, we rang our insurance company for some advice. We were in a Tesla fast charging station, having discovered this morning when we signed me up with Europcar to be an additional driver, that Tesla charging is free if you have a Tesla. I vaguely remember it being like that in NZ, once upon a time.
\nAnyway, the advice was for us to present to a certain private hospital in Glasgow. By now Simon wasn\u2019t feeling well enough to drive so I took over. It was absolutely terrifying, even with GPS guidance. We finally made it there midafternoon only to be met with baffled looks from the reception staff. They had no A and E facilities at all, it was all just Monday to Friday elective work. The man was very nice and advised us which hospital to go to, but did warn us we might have a twelve hour wait to get treatment.<\/p>\n
Simon decided at that point we should just go to our prebooked accommodation, dose him up on medication and then wait to see what happened. So that\u2019s what we\u2019re doing now. The club we\u2019re staying in is right in the middle of the pedestrianised centre of town, which is fabulous and lively but a nightmare to access by car. Our GPS was completely baffled too, at one point sending us down one of those dumpster filled back alleys that usually have dodgy things happening in them in the movies. Anyway, we made it and filled up on drugs at the local Boots and now Simon is snoring beside me. Fingers crossed he feels better when he wakes up, poor thing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
