Season’s Greetings to both my readers!

Merry Christmas from Waikanae! (Where it’s actually pissing with rain – this is an old photo) Ed’s note – is apostrophe needed in “seasons”? Is it needed in Eds? Awkward. (With apologies to Sally, an enthusiastic member of “The August Society for the Protection and Promulgation of The Apostrophe”)

Bicycle equality

As I stumbled into theatres the other day, red faced and sweaty in my cycling  gear, a tall German anaesthetist of my acquaintance looked at me in disbelief.

The grass is always greener

My dog loves it when I mow the lawn. She likes to come out and watch me. The pleasure it gives her is not just from watching someone else

Green fingers

I love “Plant Identification New Zealand”. It’s the most wholesome thing

Ho ho ho!

Finally getting a little Bublé action on my final private list of the year. Surprisingly, no one else in theatre seems very excited about it. … so, it turns out a little Christmas Bublé goes a long way. Luckily our last patient was under sedation and requested some Gorillaz for a nice change of pace.

Deja vu

Same surgeon, same reps, same anaesthetist (me),  same body part (spine), different hospital. Same playlist thank goodness. The German surgeon (an extra) had his playlist going briefly but it was terrible. I had to explain to him that due to technical issues his phone wouldn’t work with my speakers.
