My last free day in Florence before the conference starts tomorrow.

Feeling a little glum this morning, consumed with thoughts of death.

The rain seems to finally be at an end. This morning was the first time I’ve felt confident to leave their house without my umbrella.

Another wet day.

An early start for a Zoom body corp meeting which for me was at 7 am, not helped by the fact I couldn’t get the coffee machine to work.

Arranged a late check out this morning, and then hopped on a train to Florence.

Am in a local restaurant, it’s 7:45 pm on a Tuesday night and it’s empty.

Woke up early with the sound of a clock ticking, who has a ticking clock these days? In the bedroom, anyway. I eventually took the batteries out and now I keep thinking it’s 6:15 every time I glance in that direction.

Last morning on board ship, and a farewell to Simon, who is heading back home to real life while I spend another ten days here conferencing.

We travelled through the night and arrived this morning in Germany, in Passau.
