Defeated by breakfast once again, I readied myself for an even greater challenge – the Dubai Mall.

We are at the Mandarin Oriental, one of the poshest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. It was clear this morning that we have reached peak breakfast.

An early ish start for a 9 am airport transfer.

Last day of our tour, and last full day in Egypt.

Cruised into Esna at 8 and were soon venturing out for the short walk to the Esna Temple.

Thanks for your messages of concern re the gap in posts, so soon after my bout of sickness. There was nothing sinister going on, just a failure of internet functionality I.e. I thought I’d posted at the airport but hadn’t.

An early start for those of us making the trip to Abu Simbel. It’s an added extra that less than half of us decided to take.
