Thanks for the memories

Speaking of memory, I read an article this week that stated that self reporting of memory problems is a stronger predictor of future Alzheimers than any other test available.

And that includes any fancy psychometric testing, bloods, CT, MRI, you name it. Yikes. I’ve been worried my memory is going for years. If only I’d known about this research, I could have studiously ignored the problem and thus spared myself from dementia for years to come.
This sort of self fulfilling prophecy reminds me of the work showing that people who take a dim view of the aging process die earlier than those who see it with rose coloured (reading) glasses. It is almost cruel in its irony.

Well, if I’ve got issues with my recall, spare a thought for this poor person. This skirt and adjacent single sock have been in the hospital changing room unclaimed for over a month.

What is going on here? Is there someone out there so dissociated from reality that they didn’t notice they were going home just wearing knickers and one sock on their bottom half?
PS I really hope there isn’t some tragic back story to this because that would make me look really bad. I must be honest, I had a skirt with just this pattern years ago and I loved it. If it wasn’t a size 14 I was truly tempted to swipe it. Might as well enjoy the few happy healthy years ahead of me!
