How to reconcile yourself to the US election results

Oh sorry, that was a question, not a statement. Any ideas?

This memory showed up on my facebook feed the other day, which gave me a wry smile.

It reminded me that I’ve spent far too much of the intervening years doomscrolling about Trump and his awfulness on various news websites. For my own mental wellbeing, I need to stop. On the other hand, I feel strongly that as a good global citizen, it’s important to keep up with what’s going on in the world.
My son has lent me this book to help me try to make sense of things, and come up with a survival plan.

It’s very good, although I haven’t finished it yet. I don’t yet have a game plan apart from the one I came up with on election night, which is to avoid reading about the election as much as possible. Also, to feel guiltily grateful that I don’t live in the US. Of course, it’s always possible he’s the right man for the job. After all, surely millions of voters can’t be wrong?
