A lovely dinner last night on the deck of the hotel restaurant looking out over the bay.
It was their fine dining restaurant, and the food really was amazing. We ordered three courses each but there were extra things to eat before and after, artistic little amuse bouches and gorgeous bread. The lack of vegetarian options was a bit of a surprise but they were happy to convert menu items into vegetarian versions for Kirsten. Halfway through the meal I had to tell Simon he’d been thanking everyone in Spanish. It was funny the first few times but then I just felt sorry for him.
I had a poor nights sleep as Simon posted something on his ‘lads’ WhatsApp group last thing in the evening and they responded with witticisms throughout the night.
Breakfast and then a swim in the sea before our 1pm transfer across the island to the first hotel on the cycle tour.
I felt a bit ill after the drive so had a nap before meeting with the bike tour representative at 4. He was a lovely chap, his description of the trip made it sound like we should have no problem. Certainly the bikes are very good quality, nearly new with all the latest ebike technology.
This location is even more fabulous than our last resort.
You can’t tell from these photos but the sea water is the clearest I’ve ever swum in, and the bottom is just white sand as far as you can see. The water is cool enough to be fresh. Is this the perfect beach? And we aren’t even at the posh part of the coast yet.
Wish us luck for the first day of cycling tomorrow.
