My carefully planned “French woman in summer” wardrobe has been a total bust, because it’s been too hot.
Plus, all my lovingly selected shoes are giving me blisters. I had to do an emergency shoe shop yesterday afternoon. I bought these knock off Birkenstocks not because I’m a tightwad but because they only make the wide fit ones in men’s sizes. European women all have tiny beautiful feet it seems.
On the plus side, I had this weird idea that French people frown on shorts, I think I was confused with the more religious conservative countries like Italy or Spain. Hence, my Levi cut offs have been a life saver.
I wonder if they have the phrase “mutton dressed as lamb” over here? Sigh.
