My throat is still very sore, I phoned Simon in the middle of the night* to ask if I should start antibiotics but he said no, there’s be no benefit and I’d just end up with diarrhoea and thrush.
He’s seeing two or three people a day at his practice complaining of a prolonged sore throat after COVID. I’ve googled it and it seems it can be a variant of long COVID “if symptoms persist after 12 weeks see your doctor”, according to the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Three months?? I’m chugging so many pain killers, I can’t go on like this. Bummer. At least I’m not infectious.
*10 am for him, but on a Sunday which was why he wasn’t replying to my messages.
