A look to die for

I bought the most gorgeous pair of knee high boots last year.

Mi Piace but at what cost?

I don’t wear them often because they aren’t particularly comfortable but they are in reserve when I need to make a statement. Such was the situation last week when the offspring and I had an evening in town, dinner and a show.
I’d made a bit of a miscalculation though, because I ended up having to walk about a kilometer over the course of the night, from car park to restaurant to the St James theatre. By the end of the night there was no chance of looking gorgeous and sophisticated, I was too busy hobbling in pain. I had to take analgesia to get to sleep that night.
I guess I’ve been spoilt by the footwear brand that I’ve worn much of my adult life, beautiful but also comfortable. Why is that such an apparently difficult combination to achieve? Also unprofitable it seems as my favourite shoe brand went defunct a couple of years ago.

Equally fabulous but also comfy. RIP Ziera, barely clinging on after closing all their bricks and mortar stores.
