Well, yes and no.
The big reveal was not the one I was anticipating, although that also happened. But I did have an inkling about the real twist. The problem is, the amazing twist was the reason why I was so keen to read the book in the first place, but that has actually detracted from my enjoyment of reading it, since rather than relax and take it as it comes, I’ve been looking carefully for clues all the time. It’s a conundrum. The best twists are the ones not only that you don’t see coming, but that you aren’t even expecting. I have no solution to this.
