I’m supposed to be writing The Great Kiwi Novel and instead I’m reading a book I heard recommended on the radio the other day.
I can appreciate the arguments in favour of actual physical books, but you can’t deny there’s nothing as speedy as just going to the kindle store and buying the novel you want straight away.
The book was talked up as having an amazing twist in it. I’m over half way though and there’s nothing definite happened yet, although there is something that’s been telegraphed very clearly for the last hundred pages or so. I’m torn between hoping that isn’t the twist they’re talking about, because that would be quite a let down, or hoping that it is because it would give me quite a feeling of superiority over those schmucks who couldn’t spot it.
