I read to my dismay this morning, in my habitual perusal of the news media over coffee, that a new Kiwi film is being released that features a female anaesthetist as one of the main characters.
It seems that my profession is currently ‘having a moment’, which is all very well, but I haven’t even started writing my novel yet, and there’s nothing worse than trying to catch a wave that’s already gone past. My book is going to be semi autobiographical because I only have half the imagination required to write complete fiction. However, all is not lost, this might be exactly the activation energy I need to get me started, and as they say, a journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step, which is the sort of cliche I’m going to have to learn to avoid (like the plague) if I ever hope to be published. I might start with the author photo before I get any older. I’m going to practice here in the spa pool.
