For absolutely no good reason that I can fathom, I’ve started typing in “thnkas!” at the end of my letters, instead of “thanks!” which is what I’m actually going for.
My fingers still fly across the keyboard in a most satisfactory manner, it’s just that the word that appears is now wrong. This enforces many wasted seconds of pressing delete delete delete in a highly irritated manner – not conducive to a calm environment in which to perform my correspondence. Strangely enough, I’ve been doing the same thing for years with the word “hospital” that I manage to render as “hosptial” which somehow gets past autocorrect. Isn’t age a terrible thing?
