First night in the Schloss

Immigration procedures were all very smooth at the airport, and we were soon in the taxi speeding our way to our accommodation for the night.

I’m not joking about speeding either – 150 kph on the autobahn and we had to move over to the slow lane to allow faster cars to get past.
We’re not in Frankfurt itself but a town nearby, staying in a beautiful converted castle. We’re up on the 4th floor, I suspect it’s the old servants quarters, with a low roof and walls sloping in, but it’s been very tastefully renovated. There is a retrofitted lift but it’s tiny.
(Photo here if I get round to it)

We checked in around 7 pm, so time just for a light meal and a cocktail while catching up with out travel buddies.
It’s 10 pm now and I’m hoping for a good nights sleep, jet lag permitting, before a walking tour of Frankfurt tomorrow. Simon was asleep almost before his head hit the pillow. It’s his superpower.
