It happened again yesterday. I got mistaken for another anaesthetist. This in spite of wearing a scrub hat with my name on it.
I’m mistaken for a wide range of colleagues when wearing scrubs and a mask, and even when I’m in my civvies. What these women all have in common is that they are younger than me, often considerably. Is that because of my youthful appearance, or because everyone older than me has been sensible enough to retire?
