Found out during my annual credentialing meeting with my boss this morning that there have been complaints about my editorials in our departmental newsletter.
This was disappointing but then she said the number of complaints has dropped steeply once the person in question had taken her advice and stopped reading them. When she said the persons name (note I hadn’t asked) I was a little taken aback.
Of concern is that this woman has recently been promoted to a position of some influence in the hospital, but the main reason it upset me is that the last time we talked, we bonded over menopause symptoms, so the fact that she’s expressed concern about indiscretions in my writing is a real kick in the guts.
Actually, now I’ve thought the matter over, I’ve remembered that my boss has told me about these complaints every time we have one of these meetings, but out of some sense of self preservation I manage to forget it each time.
