Just voted in the bird of the year competition

Tomorrow is the last day to vote so you’d better get onto it. You get to choose five birds and you don’t even need to go to the effort of ranking them. Too easy! Fun and games but I did get a weird feeling that I was deciding which birds were going to live or die. Luckily you get a chance to donate some money to Forest and Bird at the end to assuage your guilt so it’s all positive really. The kakapo is controversially out this year but there are still plenty of your feathered friends to choose from.
NB The process is a bit slow at the moment, security is obviously very tight after problems with the Russians a couple of years back (it was the Godwits). Please be patient.
