One of our daughters is the first in the family to get COVID.
She caught it off her boyfriend while they were visiting Wellington. So much for medical workers putting their families at risk, which was what we all worried about at the start of the pandemic two years ago. Now you’re much more likely to get it from your kids.
They are both currently isolating at the family bach, and have taken the dogs with them for company. Talk about empty nest! When the kids all left home we breathed a sneaky sigh of relief, although we missed them deeply obviously. But with the dogs gone, it feels like all the character has left our home. My husband would disagree, he’s probably never been happier. I’m not even going to ask him.
