Our surgeon has been bragging to everyone who’ll listen about what he’s been gifted by a grateful patient.
He and his son are going to watch the All Blacks vs France rugby game later this year from the All Blacks box as guests, for free. OK, his patient has a new lease of life, and is feeling twenty years younger now that his disabling symptoms have been fixed. It’s lovely that the patient is being so generous to demonstrate his thankfulness – but what about the rest of us? Not even a box of chocolates for the rest of the team.
On the other hand, if things go badly, it’s the surgeon who generally has to carry the can, so maybe it’s fair…
