And then there were three

What on earth?? 13 caterpillars on the swan plant yesterday, some heavy rain overnight which I thought might do a little damage, but today there are only three caterpillars left. And not a single chrysalis anywhere.

I can’t see where the other caterpillars may have gone, although there’s at least one body at the base of the plant, and there’s a wasp munching on something I don’t want to look too closely at.


What sort of survival technique is this?? When the going gets tough, the tough get going? No wonder monarch butterfly numbers are dwindling. It’s a fiasco.
