I mentioned in my work newsletter editorial the other week that one of the ICU nurses had been a bit rude and dismissive when I handed over a post op neurosurgical patient.
It wasn’t my best ever an aesthetic, so mea culpa to some extent – but I had tried my best. Anyway, yesterday one of my ICU colleagues asked me which nurse it was, as they’d been concerned about some of their staff’s behaviour and were in the process of trying to gather reports in order to do some “constructive feedback”. I was appalled! The editorial is mostly just a light hearted stream-of-consciousness about my daily struggles at work. I had no interest in being a narc, and getting someone in trouble. Not to mention her concerns were valid. Anyway, luckily I didn’t know her name, so there was no ethical conundrum for me.
Classic Wellington ICU 🤷🏻♂️
