Busted

I’ve been talking smack about a colleague the past few days, and this morning my phone rang and their name was on caller ID.
I nearly died! It was like being back at high school all over again. (“X told me what you said about me!”) I nearly didn’t pick up but eventually I did. I’m not one of those people who can leave a phone ringing. As it turned out, they wanted to discuss a completely different subject and I was able to calm down as we chatted. That’s a lesson for me – never bitch about people behind their backs! But actually, who am I kidding? If I haven’t learnt that lesson by now I probably never will.
