I woke up unreasonably early today, so I took the opportunity to pop into Te Papa on my way to work to see the ICC test championship trophy that was briefly visiting on its way touring down the country.
I was there at 7:30 but sadly I seriously underestimated the sheer number of cricket tragics in the greater Wellington region. There were easily a thousand people ahead of me in the queue. I waited half an hour but the queue didn’t move at all and I had to leave without even catching a glimpse of the famous mace. I didn’t think my boss would be that sympathetic if I was late.
Not sure if this makes me more tragic or less?
