I am a monster.
I was cleaning my bird feeder the other day, and discovered it has these retractable perches for the birds to sit on while they throw the seed on the ground. I’d been wondering why they always looked so awkward when they were trying to access it.

The poor wee birdies! How cross they must have been at my stupidity in not being able to divine the presence of two plastic perches in six months. Embarrassing. Ah well, at least it’s kept the seed safe from squirrels.
