A current phenomenon which I don’t understand is those people who are proudly and defiantly not keeping up with what’s happening with the Americas Cup racing.
Fair enough if something doesn’t interest you, but it’s the air of superiority that these people radiate that I don’t get. When is being ignorant of something a source of self congratulation? I even heard a National radio announcer brag about missing the racing the other day because he was having a nana nap. Because actually, on some level, all sport is meaningless and doesn’t matter in the real world. What is it about this particular yacht race that makes it worse than any other sporting fixture?
