Lithuanian is so last year.
In fact sadly, I can’t remember a single one of our operating theatre Lithuanian words of the day from 2020. So, this year we are changing to Scots Gaelic, in a nod to the surgeon and my shared Caledonian heritage.
Our first word of the day for the New Year was “cèic“, pronounced “cake”. The clue was ‘a foodstuff’. It took me 0.2 seconds to correctly guess the answer was “cake”.
I think this could be a banner year for language learning.
