Due to the miracle of the interweb, my daughter and her boyfriend who are stuck in Canada can read my editorial the very same day it comes out in our departmental newsletter (well, actually, they get to read it the day before it’s published, because we live so far in the future down here on the left of the international date line).
Apparently the boyfriend’s most frequent comment is “Kirsty’s off the fuckin chain!” which I must admit is a phrase I haven’t heard before, but my daughter assures me it is most likely complimentary. She then spoils the effect somewhat (or maybe she’s just covering her bases?) when she says his brain has been rotted by listening to too much metalcore over the years so any opinions ought to be taken with a grain of salt (I’m paraphrasing).
Anyone fluent in Canadian who can help me out?
