Arrived early at Hobbiton for our tour this afternoon.
Spent the extra time looking through the shop. I’d accidentally left my new baseball cap in Wellington so my priority was another head covering to keep off those pesky solar rays, but I had time to browse as well. I soon joined my husband outside and told him about my exciting new purchases. “I’ve bought a couple of tea towels and a fridge magnet!” “Of course you have” he muttered under his breath, which I thought was a little unfair. My usual tourist shop trifecta is tea towel, fridge magnet, and mug. Actually I’d looked at the mugs, and the only one big enough was labeled ‘hand wash only – not safe in microwave or dishwasher’ which just made it an impractical purchase for me I’m afraid. The tea towels were an eye watering $25 each but I’m proud to have done my bit for NZ tourism and the economy as a whole.
Excellent tour by the way, highly recommended.
