Have been packing for our North Island roadie, with lots of light, summery garments suitable for the winterless north, and then today I heard on the radio there’d been snow on the Desert Rd.
In fact on my cycle commute today, I had to rug up as if it was the middle of winter. I even wore a ski jacket!
A few weeks ago, we were in Queenstown, and it was nicely warm and sunny. We are now quite a bit closer to summer – should it not be getting warmer? Is that not how the seasons work? Or am I being old fashioned?
I have very grumpily updated my packing list. Bring back Pacific Island holidays, that’s what I say.
