Shame

Went to buy some jigsaw puzzles for myself today. The man at the cash register looked at my boxes with pictures of thatched cottages and beautiful gardens and asked me bemusedly whether I was getting ready early for Christmas. I just grunted in a noncommittal fashion. OK, I got a little too attached to jigsaw puzzles over lockdown, but it’s better than being addicted to smoking, drinking, or gambling, surely? But somehow less socially acceptable. Lucky I didn’t go for that colouring book I was looking at.
