Whether

I’ve always had trouble focusing on the weather report on the radio, even when I really want to listen to it.
I think it’s a hangover from my childhood, when I would never be interested in what they had to say. These days I try to pay attention, but I lapse into a fugue state around Hawkes Bay and don’t usually rouse again until the Deep South.  I was particularly keen today to find out what was in store for us, as we’re in the middle of a weather bomb but I’m hoping to go for a walk after work today.  I was doing well until we got to the Manawatu, when the newsreader accidentally said “Kevin” instead of “Levin” which amused me so much I missed Wellington yet again. I’m going to have to use my weather app instead, which is always so pessimistic I’ve taken to calling it rain dot com.
